Memberships and Charters
The Grand National Lodge of Croatia is a member of the following international Masonic associations:
1. Masonic Union of the Balkans (MUB) – since December 2014.
2. Association of Masonic Liberal and Adogmatic Associations of Central and Eastern Europe (AACEE) – since December 2015.
3. Masonic Mediterranean Union (MMU) – since April 2016.
4. European Masonic Alliance (EMA) – since September 2016.
5. CLIPSAS – since May 2017.
Brief information about these organizations representing continental Freemasonry:
CLIPSAS was established on January 22, 1961, at the initiative of the Grand Orient de France and 11 other Masonic Obediences. It brings together over a hundred liberal Obediences. In 2017, the General Assembly of this global organization accepted the Grand National Lodge of Croatia as a full member, carrying the banner of complete freedom of conscience.
EMA is listed in the Transparency Register of the European Commission and holds meetings with the President or Vice-President of the European Commission several times a year. EMA works towards building Europe based on the principles of freedom of conscience, inalienable rights, and democracy, which are the foundation of the European Union.
AACEE gathers Liberal Freemasonic Obediences to promote the values of democracy, solidarity, and the connection of Central and Eastern European countries within the European Union.
MMU was established in 2000 and brings together Spain, Greece, France, Lebanon, Morocco, Romania, Bulgaria, Italy, Turkey, Portugal, Slovenia, Montenegro, and Croatia.
MUB was established in 2014 through the initiative of the Grand Mixed Lodge of Greece and the Grand Liberal Lodge of Turkey, along with nine other Obediences.
